01 About

I'm Alberto, originally from Lisbon, Portugal, and currently based in Berlin.

I'm a software engineer who likes to own the whole arc of a product: gather requirements, sketch and design the layouts, architect code that will still make sense in a year, and ship it.

Good design, user experience and code are the same job to me.

Offline I like to stay active: gym, bouldering, yoga, hiking. Or out with one of my cameras somewhere in the mountains.

02 What I do

I , and things end to end. Over 5 years of design-driven development with React, TypeScript, TanStack Query and CSS Modules, building modular frontends and reusable systems that explain themselves to the next engineer.

For the past 3 years I've been shaping the UX and UI of Tesla's factory software: critical systems that process millions of events a day across every Gigafactory worldwide, and touch the production line of every product, from Model Y and Cybertruck to Cybercab and Optimus.

    • Lead the frontend development, architecture and design of a critical factory system for carrier management and painting, contributing to the backend as well.
    • Architected the frontend and UI/UX strategy with React, TypeScript, TanStack Query and CSS Modules, making a very complex factory system intuitive to use.
    • Led the end-to-end redesign and migration from legacy libraries to Tesla’s internal design system, from Figma implementation to production deployment.
    • Migrated the UI from Create React App to Vite, cutting build times and CI/CD pipeline runs.
    • Manage production deployments with ArgoCD and YAML; optimised availability-zone distribution for better failover and uptime.
    • Architected and launched the portal that fronts Tesla’s internal factory software ecosystem: monitoring, logging and deployment in one place, with real-time downtime tracking across all factories against SLAs and KPIs. Owned it from Figma to React and Go in production.
    • Introduced a shared internal library for an AI chat interface: agent-agnostic, plug-and-play UI components built in isolation for reuse across platforms.
